Remembering Val

The Oak Park Area Arts Council is holding a ribbon cutting for the Val Camilletti Memorial Mural on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m.

The mural, which is located on the Union Pacific retaining wall near the intersection of South Boulevard and South Oak Park Avenue, is in honor of Camilletti, who owned Val's halla Records for several decades across the street from the mural.

The mural was painted by Oak Park artist Joe Abboreno as part of the Art Council's annual Mini-Mural Project. Learn more about the project at
