Parenthesis Family Center, an Oak Park nonprofit located at 405 S. Euclid Avenue that has been providing parenting education for families with young children for 35 years, is proud to welcome Dr. Amy Starin as Executive Director.
Amy Starin, Ph.D., LCSW is a clinical social worker with 30 years of experience in children’s mental health. She has held leadership positions in community mental health, inpatient psychiatry, State of Illinois Government, and University Research and Teaching. Her area of specialization within children’s mental health is the development of systems to support parents in caring for their children. Her expertise spans the full spectrum of prevention and early intervention to those with significant mental health challenges.
Dr. Starin comes to Parenthesis at a time of tremendous growth in the organization.

Dr. Starin is replacing long standing Executive Director, Kathy Kern, who retired from Parenthesis Family Center after 13 years of dedicated service to the agency.
