The Travel Channel will be in Oak Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 15 to feature the village's very own Q-BBQ, 124 Marion St., according to a press release from the restaurant.

The popular barbecue restaurant will appear on the channel's Food Paradise series. Q-BBQ is inviting patrons to join them during the filming "with your friends, family or coworkers while they film the fun atmosphere of Q-BBQ."

"You may even have a chance to be interviewed," the press release notes.

@ Laura Beasley: I hope you contacted the Health Department on that one. Some public service institutions will not act on a post like yours. I wanted a Subway Sub to go with my Bears game and went to the store at North and Austin. For grins I picked up a copy of Austin Weekly. They did a question with photos of young students and asked the kids if they liked school. One student with first name and photo stated in the comments that he didn't like school because HIS TEACHER BEATS HIM. I called the 1 800 ABUSE line and I was told that even with the name and photo and statement of the student IDCFS wouild not investigate the case because of the second hand nature. They also would not accept the complaint if I mailed them the paper, and had no capacity to view the comment section on line.

Not going back to a restaurant where 2" long cockroaches roam the dining room. When someone complained, a kitchen worker came out and stepped on it and then left the squashed remains on the floor.
