Jack Cleary, Chief Executive Officer of Vanguard West Suburban Medical Center, was recently named to the Becker's Hospital Review "300 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know" list. Leaders from senior management at a range of hospitals and health systems across the country were selected for admirable dedication to the improvement of healthcare delivery at local, regional and national levels, and for demonstrating great promise and skill to the American healthcare landscape.

Since Cleary took over as Chief Executive for the hospital two years ago, West Suburban Medical Center has opened a Joint Center of Excellence with highly trained orthopaedic surgeons, opened a cardiac rehabilitation program and earned a Center of Excellence designation for its Breast Center on the River Forest Medical Campus. Cleary also led the hospital in reinvigorating the Diabetes Center and in earning reaccreditation as a Chest Pain Center, initiating a geriatric-focused service line complete with a Senior Center and transportation program, and he has reenergized employees through recognition programs. Cleary is retired with the rank of colonel from a 25-year career in the Air Force, where he worked in health administration.

"It's an honor to be included in Becker's Hospital Review's list of 'Leaders to Know'," says Cleary. "I feel fortunate to lead a team of dedicated caregivers and administrators at West Suburban Medical Center who share my vision of providing quality patient care at the highest level."
