Oak Park Apartments, which rents more than 1,000 Chicago suburban apartments in the Oak Park area, is pleased to announce The Children's Clinic as the third winner of six in its 25th Anniversary Charity Giveaway of $2,025. Since April, other winners have included Hephzibah Children's Association and the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry.
The Children's Clinic, sponsored by the Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society, (OPRFIWS) has provided health services to children from infancy to age 18 since 1916. Over the past five years, The Children's Clinic has experienced double-digit percentage increases in the number of patients it has served. And while the organization's original focus was to serve patients from Oak Park and River Forest, today it serves children from 50 Cook County west suburban communities and Chicago. The clinic provides more than 9,300 medical, dental and social service visits to more than 2,600 children.
For 25 years, Oak Park Apartments has breathed life into old buildings and into Oak Park, making a home in Oak Park and the near western suburbs for its tenants. Whether in need of a studio, a one-, two- or three-bedroom apartment, Oak Park Apartments offers the largest selection of charming, well-maintained apartments in historic courtyard buildings, perfect for those who want to experience Oak Park.
"With our charity giveaway, we want to give our tenants and the rest of the community a voice to decide what charities we support," says Oak Park Apartments' owner Bill Planek.
The list of charities available for voting on the Oak Park Apartments web site includes social service agencies, cultural institutions, and more, including, Parenthesis Parent Child Center, Oak Leyden Developmental Services, Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust andWonder Works Children's Museum. Each month for the next three months, Oak Park Apartments will continue to donate $2,025 to charities in and around the Oak Park area. Visitors to the Oak Park Apartments web site can vote for their favorite local charity. Once a charity has won, it will not be eligible to win a second time. The competition continues July 1 with the fourth charity winner announced August 1.
