River Forest residents are required to purchase and display village vehicle stickers by the deadline of Thursday, July 14 before facing late fees and possible parking tickets.

The River Forest police are allowing a grace period of one week following the deadline before they start ticketing sticker-less vehicles, but after July 22, those vehicles may be slapped with $30 tickets. All cars registered to a River Forest address or housed primarily in the village are required to have the sticker displayed in the lower right-hand corner of the windshield. Stickers cost $45 for cars, motorcycles, and mopeds. Residents 65 and older can get a discounted rate of $25 for one vehicle per household.

Stickers can be purchased on the village website at www.river-forest.us or at Village Hall, at 400 Park Ave. Village hall hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

The late fee is $10 from July 15 through August 14, $15 between August 15 and October 14, and $20 after October 15.

For questions or assistance, River Forest residents can call the village at (708) 366-8500.
