The Historical Society of Oak Park-River Forest has two weeks left to receive a match on donations from the T. Kendall Hunt Family Foundation for its new museum and headquarters.
The foundation announced last year that it would match all donations up to $100,000 through June 30 for the renovation of the historic Cicero Firehouse at 129 Lake St.
Renovation of the building has already begun, but donations are still needed for installation of tile, carpentry trim work, purchasing fixtures, painting and other work, according to a Historical Society press release.
The society noted the work of local contractors and suppliers working on the project, including: Heritage Tile of Oak Park, Elite Tile, Kearney Construction, Ferd Johnson Painting and Decorating, Elm Flooring, Mullins Painting and Decorating, John Gilchrist and Sons Plumbing, McNulty Plastering, A.M.&L. Electric Co. and Kelly Construction.
More information about donating is available on their website at https://www.oprfhistory.org/new_home_for_history/capitalcampaigndonors.aspx.
