On Sunday, May 22nd, Oak Park native and acclaimed novelist Jane Hamilton enthralled an audience of 80 people at the River Forest Public Library with stories from her childhood and readings from some of her works. She was in town as part of a tour promoting her latest novel, "The Excellent Lombards." The book's setting is based in part on her own experience raising her family on a Wisconsin apple orchard.

The event was co-sponsored by River Forest Township and River Forest Public Library.
