Contributing reporter/Nature blogger

On the last Saturday in April I spent four hours in the  LEED® Gold-certified Public Works Center, 201 South Boulevard, doing my best to talk up the benefits of backyard composting, and indoor vermicomplsting, with crowds of young-to-older budding brown and green thumbers.

Meanwhile, while I kept educating away at a table with two other University of Illinois Extension volunteer Master Composters/Gardeners, Kevin J. McCarey, the video half of this blog, roamed the booths and beyond to catch the fun and flavor of what was being called a "celebration of green living and learning" in Oak Park.
