Governor Pat Quinn appointed Thomas V. McCauley of River Forest to the Illinois Racing Board on April 21.

"I'm honored by this appointment, and am grateful to the governor for presenting this opportunity to participate in Illinois public service," said McCauley in a news release.

McCauley has represented and advised horse racing interests in Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts and Florida.

He has also served as a River Forest village trustee and Chairman of the Board of Fenwick High School. McCauley, a 1968 graduate of Fenwick, is an inductee in the high school's Hall of Fame.
