William B. Sullivan Circuit court judge

Oak Park attorney and longtime resident William B. Sullivan has been appointed to serve as Cook County Circuit Court judge in the Eleventh Judicial Subcircuit, according to a news release from the Supreme Court of Illinois.

He was appointed to fill a vacancy, the result of Judge Susan Zwick retiring from the position. The appointment is effective June 11 and terminates following the November general election of 2016.

His appointment was aided by the recommendation of Illinois Supreme Court Justice Mary Jane Theis.

“I have worked hard throughout my career to resolve the real-world problems of everyday people and look forward to bringing this pragmatic experience to the bench,” Sullivan said in the news release.

Sullivan received Bachelor of Arts degrees in music and history from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in 1989 and a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law in 1992.
