On Thursday, March 9th, 2017, State Treasurer Michael Frerichs hosted a celebration to honor Women's History Month. The event took place at the James R. Thompson Center.

Keynote Speaker: Illinois Supreme Court Justice, Anne M. Burke.

Outstanding Commitment in Community Service: Beth Isaacs - Founder and President, Illinois Birth Justice

Outstanding Commitment in Education: Nina Shoman-Dajani - Assistant Dean, Learning Enrichment and College Readiness Moraine Valley Community College

Outstanding Commitment as an Elected Official: Bridget Gainer - Cook County Board Commissioner, 10th District

Outstanding Service in Leadership: Anne Ladky - Executive Director, Women Employed

Outstanding Achievement in Workforce and Labor: Roberta Lynch - Executive Director, AFSCME Council 31

Outstanding Achievement in Sportsmanship: Chicago Sky, WNBA
