Members of the District 97 team celebrate the first place victory they earned at the West 40 Speech and Drama Festival.

For the second consecutive year, District 97 took first place at the West 40 Speech and Drama Festival, which was held at Elmwood Park High School on Saturday, March 3. The team, which earned one of the top scores in the competition, was made up of the following students and teachers/coaches from Gwendolyn Brooks and Percy Julian Middle Schools:
