Coach - Personal & Business

We lived in the Suburbs
In the Best of All Possible Worlds
And I was a Good Momma -
I was a Gofer and a
Chauffeur

and I Spent My Life in the Car.

I drove the kids to School
and I drove them to Dancing
drove them to Boy Scouts
drove them to Campfire Girls
drove them to Little League
drove them to McDonalds
for their daily fix
of hamburg and coke

drove them to the Dentist
drove them to the Doctor
drove them to the Psychiatrist -

because I was a Good Momma -
I was a Gofer and a
Chauffeur

and I Spent My Life in the Car.

And now they eat miso and tofu
and run marathons
and nurse their babies on the subway
and give me hell for

Little Big Horn
Hiroshima
Three Mile Island
Love Canal
Acid Rain
Agent Orange
Unemployment
AND THE AYATOLLAH KOUMEINI

Because I was a good Momma -
I was a Gofer and a
Chauffeur

And I Spent My Life in the Car!

A little dated, but I feel it still is common, especially for so many parents - "I spent my life in the car."

I loved the poem and it was the common experience of the times.
