Citizens wanted for fair housing taskforce

The village is searching for six citizen members to serve on a special taskforce to look into rental housing discrimination in Oak Park. 

Creation of the taskforce is in response to a report released last month showing that rental property owner and management companies discriminated against prospective black tenants and those with hearing disabilities.

The village is accepting applications through the end of the month. It will also send its recommendations to the full board of trustees for approval in early April.
