Oak Park got a little boozier earlier this month when the Oak Park Board of Trustees approved liquor licenses for two more restaurants.

Chicago’s Home of Chicken and Waffles, 543 Madison St., and New Pot Restaurant, 727 Lake St., were both approved for bring-your-own-bottle liquor licenses, at the board’s March 4 meeting. Mayor Anan Abu-Taleb was not present for the vote.

Rosemary Malone, co-owner of Chicken and Waffles, said the restaurant has live music on Fridays and Saturdays and can be rented out for parties and events.

“It enhances the opportunity for people to have a cocktail with dinner or lunch, so when the opportunity was there and the information was sent to us we said, ‘Yeah.'”
