Tomorrow night, the annual OPRF High School student showcase, Panache, opens in Cheney Mansion’s Joie de Vivre Gallery, which highlights a dizzying array of creations from all sections of OPRF’s Art Department: photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, and graphic design.

The exhibit opening takes place from 5 to 8 p.m., with food and refreshments provided by Whole Foods Market, Domino’s Pizza and the OPRF Art Department’s parent organization, Eye on Art. Visit their Facebook page: Eye on Art.

The “pop-upstyle” reception on March 12 is described as “an explosion of three-dimensional and two-dimensional student artwork.” Music will also accompany the event.

Each year, four exhibits of student artwork are displayed in three rooms on the second floor of Cheney Mansion, 220 N. Euclid Ave., allowing visitors to Oak Park (and wedding party attendees) to see the talent of our student artists. It also gives students valuable experience with creating, promoting and installing art exhibits.
