Frank Lipo, executive director of the Historical Society of Oak Park-River Forest, received the 2013 Community Service Award from the Park District of Oak Park for the years of historical information he has provided on parks and facilities for a number of programs and projects.

Lipo's brother-in-law, Park Commissioner Victor Guarino, presented him with the award at the Park District of Oak Park's monthly meeting on Feb. 20.

The Community Service Award is presented annually by the Illinois Association of Park Districts and the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association.
