'Brooklyn' may come to The Lake

By Ken Trainor
Mark Mazrimas, marketing manager at Classic Cinemas, says they're hoping to bring Brooklyn, one of the Best Picture nominees to the Lake Theatre, in time for Valentine's Day, which would be perfect timing. If it happens, that's good news for film buffs. It's a terrific movie about the immigrant experience. And it's also a feel-good love story, unlike Revenant, which is also terrific but hits the opposite end of the feeling spectrum.
If Brooklyn finds its way to Oak Park, that would leave only one Best Picture nominee that hasn't played at The Lake this year. But there may be no room for Room.
