Mark your calendars!  The Chamber announced 2016 dates for its popular local restaurant and food celebrations:  Bite Nite and Foodie Fest.

Bite Nite 2016 will be held Friday, January 29 from 5:30pm – 9:30pm at the Nineteenth Century Club in Oak Park.  Foodie Fest Restaurant Weeks run from Thursday, January 28 through Thursday, February 11.

Our popular Bite Nite party is open to the public and features tastings from fifty local restaurants, grocers and caterers, music, door prizes and a cash bar.  Festival-goers have the opportunity to meet local chefs and restaurant owners, while sampling a variety of cuisines.  Last year was our first year and a great success.  Tickets sold out and restaurant owners enjoyed terrific exposure.

Tickets to attend Bite Nite are $30 each or four for $100 and are available on Eventbrite.  Find a link on our website or call the Chamber.  Restaurants interested in participating: please contact our office.

Bite Nite kicks off Foodie Fest, a two-week promotion modeled after "Chicago Restaurant Week."  Each of the 40 plus participating restaurants will offer a special prix fixe meal or deal during the two-week period, January 28 through February 11.   Specials are priced at $10, $20 or $30.

We encourage restaurants to be creative with their menu.  Specials might be anything from a three-serving beer flight, a lunch deal or a three course meal.  This is a great opportunity to try new places.  Follow our Facebook page and website for menus.  Some restrictions apply, so check before you head out.

The Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to connect our dining industry and local foodies through these events.  Restaurants, dining and specialty food comprise one of the fastest growing segments of our local economy.  We are increasingly known as a dining destination, attracting locals, visitors from surrounding communities and tourists.   Last year, we were delighted to host Chicagoans coming into Oak Park for Bite Nite, instead of the other way around.
