On Thursday, Dec. 11, 7 p.m., at the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake St., the library will screen the acclaimed documentary film, The Color of Art, by David Weathersby.

The film profiles African-American artists like Jesse Howard, whose work was recently added to the library's permanent art collection. Weathersby and Howard will be at the screening.

According to a synopsis on the library's website, the film explores the "present-day renaissance of black art in Chicago, centered on neighborhoods such as Bronzeville and organizations such as the South Side Community Arts Center and the Hyde Park Art Center."

The screening is part of the library's More Than a Month project, a series of events that highlight the African diaspora.
