If you picked up the New York Times this past Sunday, you may have chuckled while reading the comical conversation about the friendship between unlikely pair Anderson Cooper and Oak Park native Kathy Griffin.

Cooper and Griffin will be hosting CNN's "New Year's Eve Live" together for the eighth year in a row.

The pair dished while dining during a Q & A with Times writer Philip Galanes about growing up in their respective worlds, their shocking career moves and how they first met.

In other news, Griffin has been named as the replacement for Joan Rivers on "Fashion Police." Brace yourself.

Thanks for the nice comment on the NYT story. She definitely enjoys doing New Year's Eve with Anderson Cooper each year, and hopefully people in OP, RF, FP & the rest of the Chicago area will tune in if you're not on the town this Wednesday night. I know she's also looking forward to doing the Red Carpet show on the E Channel starting soon. Happy New Year from all us Griffins.
