5 local ways to celebrate the New Year

Five ways you, your family and friends can celebrate 2014 around town.

  1. Visit the Garfield Park Conservatory on New Year's Day, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  2. Make a reservation at Cucina Paradiso New Year's Eve, open from 5-10 p.m.

  3. Have a four course meal for $75 per person at Marion St. Cheese Market on New Year's Eve. Make reservations early. Seatings are at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

  4. Join the New Year's Eve party at Wonder Works' from noon to 5 p.m. There will be snacks, games, crafts, singing and more.

  5. Head to Maya del Sol for dinner New Year's Eve and enjoy a performance by the Steve Edwards Orchestra. A special News Year's Eve menu will be served all night. There will also be a champaign toast. Then go back to Maya del Sol in your pajamas the next day for the Annual New Year's Day Pajama Brunch. Brunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Receive 10 percent off the bill when you arrive in your pajamas.
