Join family, friends and neighbors to celebrate the joys of audiobooks, listening and reading aloud together this winter season. Now through January 10, 2014, Oak Park Public Library cardholders can sign up at any library location to play Ear Candy Bingo, as a family or individuals, and enjoy themed events for all ages.

"As part of our Winter Reading Program, families can work together to earn an 'earful' of prizes for each child, toddlers through 6th grade," said Heather McCammond-Watts, Manager of Children's Services. "Even if kids already are independent readers, reading aloud together supports literacy and family bonding," she added.

"Teens and adults can participate as individuals in Winter Reading, especially since the holidays are a perfect time to share great audiobooks, whether traveling or staying at home," said Alexandra Skinner, Adult & Teen Services Librarian. "Everyone can listen to engaging stories in every genre for chances to win a really 'sweet' raffle prize," she added.

Ear Candy Bingo allows you to choose from a variety of listening tasks for a chance to win prizes. Try everything from exploring old time radio, to listening to stories about friendship, and enjoying author-read and award-winning audiobooks.
