Oak Park shoppers don't have to worry about downtown parking meters on Saturdays during the holiday season.

Through Dec. 23, parking is free at public garages and for two hours at pay-by-plate stations and marked meters in the vicinity of Oak Park Avenue, according to a village press release.

Parking is always free on Sundays. More information about parking in the village is available at www.oak-park.us/parking.

* This article was updated to clarify that free parking is available during the holidays on Saturdays.

The signs on the meters are quite confusing. I read them as Fridays and Saturdays were free bit you had to pay all other times for parking......
