Oak Park native and "Saturday Night Live" cast member Cecily Strong will be the host for the April 2015 White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, D.C.

"Her political humor is sly and edgy, and it comes with a Chicago accent," White House Correspondents' Association president and Tribune White House Correspondent Christi Parsons said.

The comedian, who got her start in the Chicago improv scene, is the fourth woman to host the annual event.

Strong's father Bill Strong is a former Associated Press bureau chief at the Illinois Statehouse.
