Oak Park's Cheryl Munoz was one of three guests on "Check, Please!" Friday, Nov. 14. While the other guests on Friday's episode chose Chicago hot spots Au Cheval and Tapas Valencia, Munoz brought the "Check, Please!" foodies to one of her local fine dining favorites Autre Monde, 6727 W. Roosevelt Rd., in Berwyn.

Munoz lauded the quality of the food at the Mediterranean-influenced restaurant as well as the freshness of the ingredients used in each dish.

Since the Sugar Beet Co-op co-founder knows a great deal about fresh foods, "Check, Please!" host and Elmwood Park native Catherine De Orio had Munoz talk a bit about the ingredients she enjoyed. Munoz noted Autre Monde's micro greens, which come from nearby hydroponic farm Urban Till. The Berwyn restaurant also has a small green house on the grounds.

The guests who tried Munoz's restaurant pick agreed that the fine dining retreat had a great neighborhood feel despite its upscale interior as well as delicious food.

One of the guests raved about the restaurant's wood grilled octopus and the pork belly pintxos, which were also highlighted during the Wednesday Journal's Bacon Quest excursion.

Munoz recommended the bar board, classic porchetta and chocolate hazelnut pot de crème.

If you missed last Friday's episode featuring Autre Monde, see it Nov. 18 at 7 p.m., Nov. 19 at 1:30 or 7 a.m. A new episode of "Check, Please!" airs Nov. 21 at 8 p.m.
