Wednesday Journal and's food writer and blogger David Hammond is joining the staff at Newcity as the publication's Dining & Drinking editor.

Hammond has been a columnist and contributor to Wednesday Journal and since 2010. Recent blog entries such as "Don't Crotch-Bang My Baguette, Puh-leeze," "Do I Dare Eat a Pony?" and "Marrow Bones, Not Just for Dogs" are a few of Hammond's catchier headlines.

He not only has a solid reputation with Journal readers but also within the expansive Chicago food scene.

From contributing to the Tribune, Sun-Times, Reader, Where Chicago, and Chicago Social to hosting radio shows on WBEZ and Rivet News Radio, plus his own television show, "You Really Should Eat This," on VOP-TV, Hammond has a breadth of experiences and is a breath of fresh air (for fresh food).
