It's been months since we've heard anything from our future neighbors, Hamburger Mary's/Oak Park Brewing Company, but the butcher paper covering the storefront windows was taken down last week, and a sign was posted soliciting resumes for management positions.

Calls to co-owners Ashley and Brandon Wright were not returned, but earlier this month the company posted a notice on its Facebook fan page searching for front- and back-of-the-house managers. Resumes can be sent to info@oakparkbeer.com.

The banner art for the Facebook page states that the restaurant and brewery, 155 S. Oak Park Ave., is opening in 2015.

David if there is free food available you are in favor of anything associated with it. You are dead wrong about most business startups being delayed. Those that cannot get off on time have businesses that are at risk!!

Hamburger Mary's has taken a long time to get going, Chuck, but I've don't remember ever seeing a restaurant open on the scheduled date. They're putting a major investment into renovating the interior, so that might be why it's taking a little (or a lot) longer than planned. Many new restaurants like to open by Christmas, as that's a major dining out time, and opening in the early months of a year can be deadly (as business is way down as a result of post-holiday hangover). I'm looking forward to eating at this place...and maybe catching a show.

It's taking them forever, but good to see signs that they will actually be opening soon. Kind of doubt they'll finish construction before 2016 though.

I wish you were a precog as well. It fits your profile. Prefoging does not do cement, paint, and carpentry. Have you looked closely at the WJ photo?

Wish I were a precog, so I could envision wrongdoing before it actually occurs. As it is, I'm looking forward to Hamburger Mary's -- it could bring some energy to Oak Park Avenue after dark.

Being hired and getting a pay check are two different things!
