What does your business do & what sets you apart from others in your industry?

Elevate Hair and Beauty Boutique is a unique hair salon and store in the charming Arts District of historic Oak Park. Our location is both comfortable and edgy and we strive to maintain a balance of class and trend with an exclusive boutique salon ambiance. We are Oak Park's premier beauty destination for eco-friendly, health conscious, American-made hair, skin, bath, body, home, and kids' gear.

What is "super" about your business?  Why is it special?

We are a private but comfortable salon. We customize each hair color formula for each appointment, we don't just grab a pre-mixed box. We practice critical thinking cutting and color methods using projection angles and mathematics. Elevate is also a proud partner with an advanced recycling program. We send in all hair clippings that will later clean ocean oil spills, and send in all color foil, aerosol cans, and over-mixed hair color to be processed into bio-fuel and bike parts and more!

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be?

To be able to levitate so I wouldn't have to stand all day!

What is one thing you have had to do to "pivot" to survive the Covid shutdown?

We ramped up our online store, which is really fun actually! We love shopping for unique items that suit our style.

Name one thing you LOVE about our Chamber?

The support and encouragement in spending local to our community.

What's the weirdest thing you sell or offer? Or have there been any odd customer requests?

We sell health conscious dog shampoo and detangler!

Name three of your favorite local businesses (besides yourself, of course!)

GEM, Rustico family meal kits, 16 Suitcases
