Just in time for the holiday season Oak Park resident and passionate baker, Mary DiSomma, is celebrating the release of her cookbook, "A Gift of Cookies: Recipes to Share with Family and Friends."
A devoted philanthropist, DiSomma is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from sales of "A Gift of Cookies" to The Oak Park and River Forest Infant Welfare Society and Hephzibah Children's Association.
DiSomma has partnered with Karen Morava, owner of Careful Peach Boutique, to host a launch party on Friday, Oct. 23 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the shop,1024 North Blvd. in Oak Park. All are invited to attend; masks are required and DiSomma will be onsite signing books.
"A Gift of Cookies" contains 130 recipes and corresponding color photographs including everything from simple drop cookies to more elaborate decorative offerings. A deluxe version of the book is available in a specialty gift box making it an ideal gift for the bakers in your life.
