New Executive Director at the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory

Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory (FOPCON) anncounced Beth Cheng, formerly a manager at FOPCON, as the new Executive Director on Wednesday, Jan. 1. 

"Beth's work as manager has been a major factor in the increased effectiveness and professionalism of the Friends," said Andrea Green, FOPCON President. "Her promotion to Executive Director supports the continuing growth of our organization and enhances the Friends visibility and standing in the community."

Cheng worked as a museum consultant prior to beginning her work as a manager at FOPCON in 2010.

Visit their website, to learn. You have it backwards-this group supports the conservatory with financial and strategic resources. Without FOPCON, the conservatory would not have funds for emergency repairs, education and outreach, and expansion. None of your tax dollars go to this non-profit.

Never really understood this group. They use the tax supported conservatory for the gain of their organization. How much do they pay in rent? How much of the conservatory do they use that takes away from conservatory staff? How much of my tax $$ actually are going to the profitability of FOPCON?
