The North Avenue Business Association Announces Scholarship Program

The North Avenue Business Association (NABA) in its sixth year sponsoring its scholarship program for high school seniors entering college and majoring in business or a business related field.

NABA’s President, Wendy Tannenbaum states, “The business association has grownover the past few years and this is one more opportunity for the members to reachout and give back to the community within our business district.

”Eligible students must reside in the Village of Oak Park, River Forest or in the City of Chicago neighborhoods’ of Galewood and parts of Austin. Chicago resident boundaries include Armitage/railroad tracks (2000 North) to the north, Division (1200 North) to the south, Austin Boulevard (6000 West) to the east and Harlem (7200 West) to the west.

The deadline for applications is March 16, 2012. Two $1000 scholarshipswill be awarded at a presentation at the North Avenue Business Association’s Annual Meeting this spring.

The mission of the North Avenue Business Association is to enhance the overallcommercial district’s image and promote the long-term viability of the businessdistrict on North Avenue, located currently between but not limited to Harlem Avenue and Austin Boulevard.
