They've won the Chicago Music Awards five times, they've been in Time Magazine, and President Obama said the band "really knows how to get a crowd going." They're Funkadesi, and they'll be performing at FitzGerald's, 6615 Roosevelt Road in Berwyn, on Saturday, Feb. 1.

Funkadesi, from Chicago, is popular for their live shows and racial and musical diversity. Their music is a combination of reggae, contemporary funk, Latin, Indian and African beats. The band has been described as bringing the unique talents and varied cultural backgrounds of its members together to create a unifying sound and vision.

FitzGerald's is also celebrating its 40th year with an upcoming concert series. Tickets for Funkadesi and other events can be found at the nightclub's website, fitzgeraldsnightclub.com.
