Kimberly Evans Shamley, new village HR director

The village has named Kimberly Evans Shamley, 46, as its new human resources director, succeeding Frank Spataro, who retired from the position in 2013.

Evans Shamley previously served five years as director of human resources for the Public Building Commission of Chicago, according to a village news release.

She earned a master of science degree in public administration and management from DePaul University and a bachelor of arts degree in international business administration and management from Illinois Wesleyan University.

Tammie Grossman, who was recently named director of the newly created village Department of Community and Economic Development, had served as interim HR director.

Executive search firm Voorhees Associates was paid approximately $22,000 to conduct the search to fill the HR position and Grossman’s director position, according to the village. Evans Shamley was chosen from a field of 119 candidates.
