One of the five candidates running for the four open seats in the District 97 school board election April 5 has dropped out. At District 200, meanwhile, one of the seven candidates vying for three open seats has also withdrawn.

William Martin was among the filers last month for the Oak Park elementary school board but has withdrawn from the contest, the district announced last Friday. In the high school board race, Rance Clouser, who currently sits on the Dist. 97 board, has announced his withdrawal. The remaining candidates in the now uncontested Dist. 97 race are incumbents Robert Spatz and Peter Traczyk and newcomers Jim O'Connor and Denise Sacks. The Dist. 200 candidates are incumbents Sharon Patchak-Layman, John Allen and Ralph Lee, along with hopefuls John Phelan, John Bokum and Margaret Lattner Skiver.
