What a weekend for art in our area!  Start on Friday, 5/17, from 6-10pm at the "What's Blooming on Harrison Street Art Festival" in the Oak Park Arts District.  It runs from Ridgeland to Austin all along Harrison.  They'll be all kinds of art, artists, music, food, children's activities and more.  Also on Saturday, 5/18 from 10am-6pm. for complete details.

Can't get enough art in Oak Park?  Make the short trip to downtown Riverside to Guthrie Park for the annual "Riverside Arts Weekend".  See over 70 juried artists and their creations on Saturday, May 18, from 10-5pm and on Sunday, May 19, from 10-4pm.  Music, food, and more.  Get information at their site,

More art in Oak Park on Sunday, 5/19, for "Watch Chains & Lace" by Steampunk Chicago at Oak Park's Pleasant Home, 217 Home.  This artistic event returns with music, lawn games, dance, art, and gadgets.  Tickets at .

How about ending your weekend at a birthday party on Sunday, 5/19.  "Happy Birthday Cheney Mansion" , 220 N. Euclid, is an old-fashioned, bring-your-own picnic in the park with party games.  Beginning at 9am, there's a plant sale; at noon, you'll see the opening of the Woodland Waterfall Garden; followed by the picinic from 1-3pm.  Free Event with complimentary iced tea and lemonade. for info.
