June 18 is the last day to appeal the new property tax assessments that the county assessor’s office mailed to Oak Park property owners last month.
If you believe your new assessment is incorrect or unfair and want to appeal it, you should know that staffers at the Oak Park Township Assessor’s Office will be available to help Oak Park property owners prepare and file appeals through June 18. To set up an appeal appointment, you should call the township during regular business hours. The number is 708-383-8005.
Since we are now just a week before the deadline, I urge taxpayers in need of help to set up an appointment soon.
