As a 28-year resident of Oak Park and a 4-mile-a-day dog-walking citizen, I would like the village of Oak Park to consider making it a requirement that only pet-friendly ice melting products be used on village sidewalks.
I don’t think this is an unreasonable request since the village already unfairly “taxes” homeowners with maintaining public property requiring them to shovel sidewalks and fining them if non-compliant.
