The Oak Park and River Forest High School wrestling team went 2-1 in a quadrangular meet it hosted on Dec. 10.
The Huskies defeated Neuqua Valley 50-24 and Riverside-Brookfield 42-25, but lost to DeKalb 52-21.
OPRF had five wrestlers win all three of their matches: Zev Koransky at 113 pounds, David Ogunsanya at 126, Joe Knackstedt at 132, Vance Domenz at 182 (all via pin) and Eric Harris at heavyweight.
The Huskies will spend this weekend at Hinsdale Central. They’ll take on the host Red Devils in a dual Dec. 15, then participate in the Rex Whitlach Tournament Dec. 16-17.
Darshan Thomas had 19 points, nine rebounds and three assists to lead Fenwick (5-4, 1-2 in the Chicago Catholic League) to a 62-56 home victory over Marmion Academy Dec. 7.
Ty Macariola had 18 points, three rebounds and two assists, while Damion Porter Jr. added nine points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Friars.
After losing at Loyola Academy 42-27 on Dec. 9, Fenwick has road contests at Providence Catholic on Dec. 13 (after Wednesday Journal’s press time) and St. Ignatius on Dec. 16 before returning home to meet Bulls Prep on Dec. 20.
The OPRF boys fell to 3-4 for the season with a 59-56 loss at Glenbrook South on Dec. 10.
Justin Bowen led the Huskies with 14 points and eight rebounds. Christian Marshall had 12 points and Max Johnson added 11.
OPRF hosts Hinsdale Central in the West Suburban Conference Silver Division opener Dec. 16. Tipoff is scheduled for 6pm. The Huskies then travel to Lake Forest on Dec. 17 for a non-conference affair.
