To James Jenkins: Your response, “Venting grievances,” [Viewpoints, Oct. 13] is the epitome of privilege. It either hurts you to hear the voice of Michael Romain or you’re threatened by it [When the cost of racial integration is too high, News, Oct. 6]. Maybe both. Instead of attacking him and throwing around labels like “anti-white,” look deep down inside and find out why you’re offended. If you expand your circle, you would find there are many people who have similar experiences to Michael and are proud that people like you are hearing this. Maybe you’ll wake up if you hear it more. Support, don’t suppress.
