Wednesday, April 28, is National Superhero Day. I’d like the residents of River Forest to remember the superheroes who worked all through the pandemic at River Forest Public Library. I’m sure I’m not alone in relying on them to provide more than my usual quantity of reading material and DVDs to help me pass the seemingly interminable months “in captivity.” First there was curbside pickup, then there was limited use of the library itself. Every time I stopped in to get my material on reserve, I got a smile, any help I needed, and the generally great service I’ve come to expect in the 32 years I’ve lived in the community. Along with the doctors and nurses and first responders, I’d like to say to the library staff, “Thank you for your service.”
