Thank you to Annette Madden and Chris and Mary Hillcoat [The Deer Committee needs to check their math, Viewpoints, Feb. 17] for raising the red flag concerning the proposed deer culling. There are a couple other things that we should consider.
How can a culling decision be made without having an exact count of deer living in the forest preserve?
Is it known how many deer can inhabit our particular preserve before it is detrimental to the natural balance?
When the unhappy people bought homes near the forest, did they not realize that deer live in the forest?
If you look online, there are a multitude of deer-resistant plants for enhancing a landscape.
Just a few thoughts.
