Oak Park Public Library has announced that the lobby and parking garage of its main branch, 834 Lake St., will reopen with a limited schedule for returns and holds pickups Friday, Jan. 22. All staff areas have been disinfected and all library teams have completed quarantines.
In-person hours for pickup and returns are 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. People can return books or pickup holds between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Fridays, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
Come February, the library expects to broaden its available services allowing cardholders to make requests for at-home delivery, use remote printing amenities and return materials to external drop boxes, among others.
The Maze and Dole branches remain closed to the public, but all virtual programming will continue as well as virtual staff support.
