The Chicago International Film Festival is featuring a documentary produced by Oak Park’s Rachel Pikelny and River Forest’s Amy Ostrander.
Titled “The Road Up,” the film chronicles five Chicagoans as they seek to transform their lives for the better and find gainful employment with assistance from the non-profit job-training organization Cara. While chronicling their successes and struggles, the film shines an intimate light on poverty, homelessness and addiction.
