In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Oak Park police officers are wearing pink patches on their uniforms throughout the month of October to show their support for breast cancer survivors and those currently battling the disease.

The patches, shown prominently, are meant to raise awareness to the importance of early detection. A portion of the cost to purchase the patches goes to national breast cancer research organization Susan G. Komen Foundation.
