Two years after his docuseries “America to Me” aired on Starz, Oak Park director Steve James is poised to release another documentary that sheds light on the Chicago area’s racial landscape.
“City So Real,” a 5-hour documentary about the election of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, will debut on Oct. 29 on National Geographic.
“The series is billed as ‘a deep, multifaceted look into the soul of a quintessentially American city, set against the backdrop of its history-making 2019 mayoral election,'” according to the Sun-Times.
