LaVerne Katherine Tomaso (nee Blake), 84, died on Aug. 13, 2020. Born in Chicago on June 5, 1936, she spent the majority of her life in Oak Park, where she was an integral member of the Saint Giles Family Mass Community for nearly 50 years. A lover of music, babies, gardens, all things sweet — especially chocolate — sun-drenched days, and most of all, her dear family, she will be missed beyond measure and always cherished.
LaVerne was the wife of the late Richard G. Tomaso; the mother of Rick Tomaso, Carla (Ronald) Weil, Jon (Amy) Tomaso, Suzy (William) Bradford, and the late Katherine Tomaso; the sister of Marion Blake, Geri (Tom) Flynn, Maureen and Michael Blake; Gramma to Maddy and Ellie Weil, Jennifer, Luke and Benjamin Bradford, and Michael, Ryan and Ava Tomaso; and friend to so many.
