I have attached a photo of an installation of Ross Gay’s “A Small Needful Fact” in Maple Park here in Oak Park. After reading it in an Academy of American Poets email this past Friday, I sent it via email to family and friends because it so richly and succinctly captured what’s at the heart of the civil rights protests.
My brother-in-law, Terry Sheridan, was moved and wanted more people to read it, so he then created the attached and posted it in the park just north of Fillmore on a tree close to the sidewalk facing Maple Avenue.
