It’s not a donation. It’s not a grant. Google is clear about that. But happily it is $7,000 in U.S. currency we can use toward our coverage of COVID-19 in our seven neighborhoods. Growing Community Media was chosen for a first wave of funding from among 12,000 applicants across the globe for Google’s Emergency Newsroom Fund.
We’re grateful. And whatever Google wants to call it is fine by us.
